Who We Are

About Trees Virginia

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life through the stewardship of our Commonwealth’s urban and community trees. The Virginia Urban Forest Council, better known as Trees Virginia, is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1990. Our staff and volunteer Board of Directors guide the Council's programs and direction. We are urban foresters, certified arborists, tree stewards, educators, consultants, master gardeners; a diverse group of people who love trees and strive to expand public awareness of the role trees and forests play in the urban environment. We are a State and Federal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and depend on your donations as a significant funding source. Learn how you can support Trees Virginia.

Vision

Trees Virginia works to promote an awareness of our community forests and stimulate a public awareness of the role trees and forests play in the urban environment. Our philosophy to provide a healthy place for forests in our urban communities, requires that we work together to protect and enhance the natural environment. All who live and work in the communities around Virginia affect the condition of trees, forest, and green areas.
