Teachable Moments...Laurel Park High School, Henry
County.

| Lois Christiansen,
Executive Director of the Gateway Streetscape Foundation in Martinsville,
Virginia, conducted a pruning workshop with horticulture students
from Laurel Park High School in Henry County. It was a Landscape
Design I class taught by Mrs. Debra Barker (pictured far right). Lois taught
the students about the correct tools and using the correct techniques to
prune trees. It was a hands on demonstration and we pruned 8 mature
River Birches, which Gateway had donated to the school. They even
learned how to do a crown restoration on a damaged tree. Check out more
